Hobbies and interests
I like to hike in the mountains and pick berries in the summer and morels in the spring. I enjoy reading, painting, and cooking. I geek out about botany and the relationship between different organisms and I can often be found wandering around on the weekend with a camera, trying to get close-ups of forest flowers.

Travels
I've been to Australia, Japan, Hawaii, and Greece, as well as all over the state of Idaho, and surrounding Intermountain West. I studied in Australia for 2 months, and developed a deep appreciation for Antarctic Beeches and living in an area not saturated with poisonous creatures.

Studying desert plants in the Mojave.
